Inbound and Outbound Truck Scanning at Richgro
Loadscan technology supports compost and mulch operations in Australia
Richgro, one of Australia’s leading compost and mulch producers, has adopted inbound and outbound truck scanning technology from Loadscan to improve accuracy across its bulk operations. The family-owned business, based in Jandakot, WA, is well known for producing premium compost, potting mixes, and mulches for customers across the country.
Owner of Loadscan, Carey West, recently visited Richgro’s head office and bulk facility to see the technology in action. Two Load Volume Scanner (LVS) units are installed in a one-way traffic route, giving Richgro complete oversight of the material entering and leaving their site.

Accurate inbound measurement of raw materials
The first LVS is positioned to measure inbound truckloads of raw bulk product. By scanning every delivery, Richgro can verify that they receive the correct quantities of raw composting materials ordered from suppliers. This eliminates guesswork, prevents under-supply, and provides transparency when managing supplier relationships.
Outbound scanning for customer confidence
The second LVS scans outbound trucks carrying Richgro’s compost and mulch products destined for customers. This ensures every truckload is measured before it leaves the facility, guaranteeing customers receive exactly what they have paid for.
Carey West noted:
“It was great to see our product in action at such a well-known Australian company. By using both inbound and outbound truck scanning, Richgro has strengthened trust and accountability across their supply chain.”
Technology that connects both scanners
The two scanners run on Loadscan’s synchronized database software, which allows trucks to be scanned at multiple points on site. For example, a truck arriving fully laden can be scanned at the inbound unit, unloaded, then rescanned empty by the outbound unit to calculate precise volumetric data.
This dual-scanning process not only validates incoming and outgoing loads but also provides reliable reporting for management and compliance purposes.
Building efficiency in bulk operations
Richgro’s adoption of inbound and outbound truck scanning highlights how volumetric scanning technology delivers measurable benefits for compost and mulch producers. By ensuring accuracy on both sides of their operations, Richgro reduces disputes, improves supplier accountability, and builds customer confidence.
As bulk operations continue to look for smarter ways to track material movement, Loadscan’s LVS technology is setting a new standard for efficiency and trust in the Australian bulk materials industry.
