Loadscan, the global leader in volumetric measurement technology announces the integration of License Plate Recognition (LPR) technology into its Load Volume Scanner (LVS) systems for advanced truck identification. This addition marks a significant development in streamlining operational processes and enhancing transparency and accountability for companies utilising Loadscan’s solutions.

The Loadscan LPR system utilises state-of-the-art camera technology to identify a truck that goes through the scanner by reading and capturing the licence plate. This information is then seamlessly displayed on the message board alongside the load volume data and any related messages. All recorded data is automatically logged in the Loadscan MyScanner cloud system for easy access and analysis.

“Loadscan’s License Plate Recognition system is innovative technology that simplifies the entry and exit process for drivers, reducing wait times and increasing overall efficiency,” said Carey West, CEO of Loadscan. “It also provides an additional layer of oversight for companies that want to promote transparency and accountability throughout their operations.”

By initiating the license plate recording process, the Loadscan LPR system significantly reduces manual effort and time required for data entry. This allows for streamlined operations and improved overall workflow efficiency, while real-time display of license plate information, alongside load volume data and related messages, provides operators with immediate insights into truck movements, facilitating better decision-making and resource allocation.

With comprehensive records of truck movements and load volumes stored in Loadscan’s MyScanner cloud system, companies can easily track and monitor activity, improving accountability and compliance.

Advanced data capture minimises the risk of human error associated with manual recording methods, ensuring accuracy and reliability in the reporting of key operational metrics.

Using LPR reduces the costs associated with purchasing and fitting radio frequency identification (RFID) tags to vehicles.
By using a Loadscan-supplied mounting kit, existing scanner systems can be retro-fitted with an LPR system, making a seamless integration for companies already utilising Loadscan’s advanced volumetric scanning technology.
