How volume scanning reshapes customer relationships Tracking material volumes across multiple sites is a [...]
Loadscan, the pioneers of the patented LVS Load Volume Scanner™, has launched an innovative mine load measurement system designed to meet the demanding requirements of surface and underground mining operations worldwide.
The new system, called the Mine Payload Scanner™ (MPS), represents a complete redesign of the industry-standard LVS. Developed in collaboration with international mining customers, the MPS delivers precise, reliable load measurement in even the harshest mining environments.
Accurate, Real-Time Load Monitoring
Carey West, Loadscan CEO, explains: “Our customers requested specific features for their mines. The new MPS unit sets a new standard for payload scanning in the mining industry.”
The MPS can scan small underground trucks up to 400t rigid dumpers with a certified accuracy of ±1%. Advanced visual alert functionality provides real-time load status to drivers and operators, including alerts for underload, overload, load OK, carryback, and off-centre loads. This allows immediate corrective action and ensures optimal truck performance.
Designed for Extreme Mining Conditions
The MPS has been engineered for rugged environments. With upgraded mining-spec cabling, ruggedised components, and an IP67 ingress rating, the unit operates reliably in temperatures ranging from -40°C to +60°C (-40°F to 140°F). These enhancements make it ideal for both underground and surface operations.
Industry Launch and Tradeshows
Loadscan will showcase the mine load measurement system at leading industry events, including MINExpo in Las Vegas (September 2021), XXXIV Convención Internacional de Minería in Acapulco (October 2021), and IMARC in Melbourne (January 2022). Mining operators will have the opportunity to experience firsthand the accuracy, efficiency, and reliability of the MPS.
Optimising Mining Productivity
By implementing the MPS, mines can achieve precise load measurement, reduce underloading and overloading, monitor carryback, and ultimately improve productivity and profitability. The system provides mining operators with the tools needed to optimise truck loads, enhance operational efficiency, and maintain safety standards.
